about

Note: when you buy the album, an extra zip file will be included in the download with all the oscillators and presets. There are no pre recorded loops in this sound bank.

This sound bank uses multisampled instruments and it is focused on acoustic and electro acoustic instruments.
Its 128 presets follow roughly the MIDI GM specifications. It is not a true 100% General MIDI bank, because some instruments that i found not necessary were left out., It can be used, thought, in GM mode if you use the Blofeld in 16 MIDI channel multimode. You only have to press play in your MIDI player and the Blofeld will receive each MIDI track's program change and it will set the correct patches for each channel. The main goal with this project is to have a small orchestra inside a little box to use in live performances. The Pseudo has strings with many articulations, acoustic pianos, electric pianos, vocal choirs, acoustic basses, guitars, saxophones, trumpets, clarinets, vibraphones, xylophones, lots of exotic chromatic percussion and acoustic and electronic drums.

All the demos were made using the blofeld alone in single or multi mode and sequenced by a Roland MC-707.

All the presets are based in multi sampled instruments, except for the drum sounds.

All the percussion elements are tuned and can be played chromatically.

All the stabs and one shot vocals are tuned and can be played chromatically.

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

INSTALL THE SAMPLE CONTENT \ OSCILLATORS AND THE PRESETS

Note: by default the presets will be installed to bank 2. Backup bank 2 before you install this bank. If you wish to install the presets on another bank use the sysex version included and a sysex librarian software like midiox.

-=Step 1=-
Be sure that your Blofeld is connected via USB to your computer directly, without any
USB Hub.

-=Step 2=-
Download the Waldorf Spectre App.
cloud.waldorfmusic.com/index.php/s/GYJAYc3icLPK8wx
Install Spectre.
Be sure to have the latest firmware - v1.25

-=Step 3=-
Launch Spectre. Click “Audio/MIDI” to configure Spectre for your current system.
The important settings is “Midi Output”. Choose your Blofeld.
Close the MIDI & Audio Settings window.

-=Step 4=-
Click the Upgrade button on Spectre and choose the file " BLOFELD PSEUDO GM BANK SAMPLE CONTENT.mid "
Wait for the sample content to be transmitted. This usually takes around 45 minutes.
When finished, press play on your blofeld and it will reboot.

Note: sometimes the Blofeld recieves the sample content and does not show the "press play to reboot" message at the end. Just turn it off and on manually.

-=Step 5=-
After reboot, click again on the the Upgrade button and choose the file " BLOFELD PSEUDO GM BANK PRESETS.mid "
Wait for the presets to be transmitted.
Done.

Note: for playing the Blofeld it is advised that you use a 5 pin din midi cable. The blofeld is buggy when receiving more than one note at the same time by usb connection.
